As a long time Casio user – I have owned a number of Casio watches over the last 40 years. I’d say at least four have been Illuminators. I work carpentry construction, and I never take them off. I work and play in them, and shower and sleep in them. The batteries last between 6 and 10 years, and by that time, the watch is ready for replacement or a new battery. Usually the strap lasts as long as the watch for me, but I have replaced one or two with straps from older retired watches. If they take a direct hit from a hammer, you can crack the bezel. If you try to use the alarm, and don’t take it off, you won’t hear it when it goes off.

My son is very happy to have this watch. – nice watch, not too big, but light did not work – which for me was essential

Casio is legendary for a reason – Purchased this timepiece for an uncle after he complained he couldn’t read his Casio steelband easily anymore. The following review is my experience with a carbon copy version I bought previously.

Exceptional Customer Service – Item was exactly what we wanted. I had a question and received wonderful customer service. Will come back again when my husband needs his next watch. 🙂

My kid likes it – I got this for my son when he was 12. It’s been about a year now and it works just fine. It hasn’t had in water much, but it did fine when submerged a few times while swimming. Is it necessary to keep the watch on while swimming? No, so I encourage him to remember to remove it prior to swimming and bathing. If you’re planning to regularly expose your watch to water, maybe you should be looking at a watch at a higher price point. I think this was like $12-$15 when I got it, so let’s keep the expectations realistic. The face is still fine, no scratches, but my son isn’t rolling/sliding around in dirt/sand/gravel. If you’re expecting to do those things, I can’t promise the face will hold up. It’s not that intuitive to learn the functions, but after some brief reading in the manual, you should do just fine. For the price, it’s exceeded my expectations and my son likes it, which is really the most important part.

Perfect for me – I had a Casio watch just like this 40 years ago when I was a young adult. I loved it then, and I love it now. This watch has everything I want and nothing I don’t need. I don’t like a big bulky watch, so the size is perfect for me. Others might think it’s too small; for me, the smaller the better. I replaced the band with a 18mm NATO band from Ritchie, and it is great.
